The screen shown in my post is what appears when the “accept” link from the email is clicked on…
For whatever reason, that screen it goes to is my Plex Master user account and it shows me as logged in, yet none of the email addresses I’ve sent “friend” invitations to have ever been part of my Plex environment.
Thanks for the help …
Regards,
Doug
ps: a “Friend” invite doesn’t have to go to an existing Plex user… correct?

log you out of the site
click the link
when prompted log in as the first user
rince and repeat
the accept link does not log you in, if just takes you to a link on the site and prompts you to login and accept, which you should be doing as the user. You already being logged in as you is confusing things.

Do your friends have Plex accounts?
Good question …
The two email addresses I used to test the “friends” function are mine and are separate and distinct from the email address I’m registered as a Lifetime Plex Member with.
I wanted to test how the friends function worked before I invited a real friend who lives 3,000 miles away, so I thought I’d test it this way. I get the same errors on both unique email addresses and regardless of whether I “accept” the email invite on my MacBook Pro, iPad or iPhone. All devices return the same error shown in the screen pic.
Is there something weird about my email addresses, although I can’t imagine why that would be a problem?

Ok, followed all your instructions and logged out of the site …
I then clicked the link from an invite email…
It took me to a screen where it wants me to login I entered the email address I sent the invite to, as well as chose a password.
It throws and error as shown in the attached screen.

you need an account, click the “no account sign up” option.

So, for clarity…
I can’t invite a friend to share my server, unless they either have a pre-existing Plex account, or go through a sign-up process from the screen they see after clicking on the “accept” link in the email I send them?
