my invited friends get the email to accept and when they click on the link it gives them and error

But you can also avoid these emails:
Does your friend already have a plex.tv account?
If not, let him sign up to plex.tv.
Then he tells you his plex username and you share your server with him.

Here you go. (Image) I have the problem as well. I tested it by sending invite to another email of mine to see what my friends are getting, this is it. Can’t believe you had this issue Jun 3 (hopefully it was at least in 2016?) And the only fix is to not use it at all. Instead do it another way?
That can be caused if you are logged in to Plex.tv as another user, not the one that actually got the invite, and tried to click on the email link.
