Are you referring to using a swipe action (which works from anywhere on the screen)? Alternatively, you tap the “hamburger” menu on the upper left.
That’s not an option for UNO; Plex is working on unifying their UX across all platforms so I doubt that you’ll be seeing any remnants of the Type-First design approach.
