THE GOOD:
- Remembering the tabs and how I have it setup is great. I usually just look for On Deck and then Unwatched Movies and Unwatched TV shows and it remembers what tab I was on. Even better with Live TV since it always goes to the guide for me now.
- Changing the order of the sidebar around to match the order I want.
- Not overly complicating things and making it much clicking to get to where I want, like the iOS app turned into.
- Updating your Library from in the app. #amazing
ISSUES:
- The user icon gets squished even though there’s a lot of space for it.
- Live TV is still very jerky. Sports or anything with a scrolling bar that’s interlaced just highlights the issue. Other apps have smooth playback, so still not sure why this isn’t working.
- In the Home Hub there’s no way to change Recently Added Movies to Unwatched Movies and the same with Recently Added TV to Unwatched TV. If this isn’t allowed, at least an option to hide watched shows and movies from the Recently Added section. Right now it’s not very useful when it has stuff in it I’ve already watched.
SUGGESTED CHANGES/ADDITIONS FOR UNO + ENHANCED PLAYER
- Add the ability to add a Search to the sidebar.
- Add EAC-3/Atmos support.
- Remove the need for the thumbnail creation on the server for the scrubbing preview. These take up way too much space and take too long to create when it can be done dynamically in the app.
- Lossless Audio for videos is still being transcoded (or using the lossy DTS core) instead of just converting to PCM and playing the lossless audio as PCM.
