On most of the other platforms, I can mass edit tags for my videos by selecting multiple videos and using the context menu. But the Plex iOS app only lets you add to a playlist, the usual editing features are missing. Could we please expand the iOS app to include more of the usual capabilities?
It is not meant to use other Plex clients to edit your metadata. That should be done from Plex Web.
I disagree. If I wanted to use the Web app, I might as well uninstall the iOS app.
The iPad app already has bulk editing for playlist membership. It just needs bulk editing for collection membership and air date to become a richer, more rewarding experience.
Playlists and collections are different things. Playlists are basic list with no metadata, just add/remove. Collections have their own metadata and managing this from other Play clients like the iOS app would require a lot of effort. Not saying it won’t be possible in the future, but there are no immediate plans to bring admin features like this to other Plex clients.
