iOS Mobile App - Downloads Not Working Consistently

I am having an issue with Downloads on the iOS Plex app. From what I can tell I am on the latest iOS app version as well as the latest server version.

I am frequently getting an error message “Error downloading this item”. I have tried deleting the “Download” and re-adding it via the app and still encounter the same issue. I have been mostly trying with Movies. What’s odd is if I were to download a show, some episodes will eventually download but it most likely won’t download them all at once. I have successfully Downloaded movies in the past, but overall the experience is very bad.

I have read through the “Known Issues” for Downloads, from this post, and I don’t think any of them apply to me. The only one that might apply is the “DNS rebinding” as I do use Pi-Hole, but I’ve also changed the DNS on my phone to point to 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8 but the issues persists. The server is also pointed to 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8. I am also not entirely sure that is related as the post linked says the issue doesn’t show progress, but I do see a progress “circle” on my app.

The iOS app will continue to try to download content, and sometimes it works. For the movie in the picture specifically, I have yet to have it successfully sync.

The Console on the server shows the Transcode running for the download, but eventually it will stop either throwing the error below or randomly with no error. I’ve attached logs.

Can you provide me the xml info for both Apollo 13 and Sonic? It looks like the app is getting these 2 confused.

Hi there. Here are the 2 XML files for Sonic and Apollo, renamed to .txt as the forum doesn’t allow .xml uploads.

I do also want to provide another example of Downloads failing, this time with a show. Succession is having the exact same issue when I try to download. I’ve included fresh logs from the server and iOS app. As you can see, some items downloaded fine, some didn’t. For this show I started downloading the entire season at once, only some downloaded.

I was wrong about Apollo. I think I found the real issue.

You have other Downloads in progress so when it first checked the space to see if it fit, it was yes.
But then other Downloads started up and you no longer have enough space.

I’m not sure what’s going on with Succession. When you download a season, the order they get downloaded is not necessarily on order, i.e. 1, 2, 3. I’m not sure what’s going on. I see your server did transcode episode 1, but never downloaded it.
