The situation: using my iPad to watch a video on Plex. I need to go somewhere and I close the iPad and head out.
The problem: After a period of time, say about 30 minutes or so, the video will spontaneously restart even though the iPad cover is closed and the device is asleep. This happened in my briefcase a few times and I assumed that the cover had opened, but I’ve had it happen when it was sitting on my desk, sitting on a chair next to me etc.
I assume a quick fix is to turn off background app refresh, but that disables my ability to use Plex for music in the background.
Why is this happening, and how can it be fixed other than quitting the Plex app when I want to stop watching a video?
