I‘m using an iPad Pro 2022 with an external display DELL U2720Q per USB-C. If I‘m using the Plex app with the IPad display it looks good, if I move the app to the external display it looks also good, until I start a video. I can than only hear sound but with a black screen. Other apps like Amazon Prime or Paramount+ or the Apple file manager app do not have this problem. How can I solve this? Thanks
I noticed that if you have Stage Manager, the video will only playback on the monitor where you open the app. So don’t move, just open Plex from the dock on the monitor you want playback to occur.
It’s not perfect, and here is hoping that some effort might be made to make this work more reliably, as you mentioned a number of other video apps don’t have this challenge.
I’m on iPad Pro 2022 11", v 8.16. I can replicate the same behavior of not having any video when moving from the external display to the iPad display. When connected to external display, YES, you can start the app on that display and have video, but there are no controls.
PROBLEM/BUG: There are no controls for playback. Nothing, it’s as if the controls are gone or not rendered right or something and so the only way I can “stop” playback is to forcibly close the app.
WORKAROUND sorta: If I start the app on the iPad, and line up the moon and stars right, video will play full screen on the external display and controls will work on the iPad display.
I’d prefer to have the option to go full screen on the external display WITH CONTROLS so I can use the iPad display for other things and not dedicated to playback (email or something else while a show is playing).

I have mentioned that I can see the issue also in other apps like the Amazon Prime Video App, but also on the File Browser from StratoSpherix. The Support from StratoSpherix has given me as workaround (until the problem is solved) to deactivate Chromecast/AirPlay in the app. For this app it works, but how can I do this in the Plex app?
