IPV6 support

Hi Plex Team,

I’d like to report a longstanding issue: the Plex main application still lacks full IPv6 support.

As more home networks and ISP environments default to IPv6, this lack of support is impacting remote access and overall user experience. For an application focused on network distribution and media services, IPv6 compatibility is indeed crucial.

It’s worth noting that after my previous feedback, Plexamp was promptly improved and gained relevant functionality in subsequent versions. This demonstrates the team’s willingness to listen to user input and actively iterate on the product. Therefore, I’m eagerly anticipating that the main Plex app will soon follow suit with IPv6 support, making the entire Plex ecosystem more complete and unified.

Thank you very much for your efforts, and I look forward to updates regarding IPv6 support.

Yep. I’m currently stuck behind CGNAT and remote access is a no go for me without spending extra money per month just to use this service.

Meshnet kind of works, but it’s something I was already paying for and speeds are abysmal and performance is poor. Thankfully HW transcoding allows me to cripple the streams but keep it watchable. The few friends and family I share with are stuck using 2mbps streams through relay on the very rare occasions that it actually lets them connect to my server.
