on the new plex UI, I can’t remote access my home server over IPV6 but I can access remotely on old plex UI and plex web, does the new Plex UI drop IPV6 support?

plex server Version 1.41.5.9522

Yes, the new iOS app dropped IPv6 support (and Android never supported it)

That’s not true. I run a true IPv6 server due to CGNAT and use a dynamic DNS which holds my public IPv6 which I added to the server config. This way the clients function remotely too.

The old Android app supported connection over IPv6 on mobile connections. The new one fails hard. Dunno if this company wants to alienate it’s user base. This is plain evil. I’ll very likely try jellyfin out in the future.

Could you share your config using the dynamic dns? I’ve been using the custom server access URLs field with my fixed IPv6 in it and it only works with the old app (and never worked on Android)

Can anyone from Plex advise why the decision to move away from support for IPv6 in the New Experience given the very real situation of ISPs throughout the world forcing users onto CGNAT by default, yet having perfectly serviceable static IPv6 address space allocated, configured and ready to go.

Is this a temporary situation? Will IPv6 make a comeback? Even as a Plex Pass feature?
