I’m also looking forward to this fix.
My current solution when resuming media after walking away (and the screensaver appearing) is to hit play and then seek back 10 seconds or so to get the audio and video back in sync. Otherwise, the video remains paused until the audio catches up.
This has been an issue for a while now and is really frustrating to deal with. I have to pause pretty regularly because I have a little one that I care for and their needs obviously come first.
Side load 8.19.4 - you’ll be better off until it’s resolved

I tried this to do this as well. But apparently you also need to downgrade the server package or media just won’t start and only crashes.
At the end we’ll all see this will just be as simple as a wrong capital letter. (Developer myself, know and hate the struggle).

Also Skip intro thing, it’s hard to press sometimes it just pauses and plays even though it shows it on certain TV shows
I am on the old version you suggested and it works pretty good. Thanks! I don’t know if it’s a separate issue but certain comedy tv shows start talking right away and you miss out on what they said as the video and audio start a little into the episode. I know the issue now is the video starting frozen but audio starts. But is there anyway to fix this issue too?
Same issue we’re talking about this with this old things about I just brought up another issue but yes that’s the whole thing we’re talking about

you can easily test yourself to see if the problem is fixed in either the current public release or the current beta release.

I’m going to guess (and hope) that they’re probably All-Hands-On-Deck for dealing with the current disaster that is Nvidia Shield Experience 9.
My Shield 2019 Plex server is barely limping along with lots of broken functionality, and basically held together with duct tape right now.

i have no plex issues since upgrading to shield 9.0.0 (on both my shields).

Shield 9.0 did not make any dent in the specific issue covered by this thread for me. Any media that did the paused video with sound still playing thing, still does it.

no expectation that shield 9.0.0 would have any affect as it’s not a shield issue.
it’s almost certainly an exoplayer issue which is part of Plex.
Yeah I had no issue either updating The only thing I have thing now with Plex is only Plex is sometimes I’ll hear the background audio of my movies and I’ll have to power off my receiver and power it back on now to hear the regular people voices but every other app works fine just flex
Plex is working fine on my updated Shield.
