Is app.plex.tv offline?

I do receive 404 errors. Plex Monitoring shows no error.

No outages we are aware of.

Where does that nginx error come from? My site is working when connected from remote. It’s only app.plex.tv thats not working.

Huh. That should forward you to https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/.

Not working neither:

Can you go to plex.tv and hitting the launch button from there?

Results in exactly the same 404 error.

Hmm, scary. Nothing has changed here. AFAIK, 404 comes from your (worldwide distributed) server.

Just random ideas, not an expert.
This is not an emulator or something right? Sometimes they have their own DNS or Proxy thing going on. Also, sometimes having wrong Date & Time make websites to throw different error, maybe give that a try as well.

Plex does distribute through multiple servers. Could be region specific. Let me check around.

No, it’s my Android Tablet I’m working with throughout the day. Seems that I need to go out of bed and start my Windows Laptop.

I mean 404 is thrown by a webserver when this webserver does not find a requested, specific target. IMHO a wrong URL rewrite in nginx. But then, there must be more people with that error. That leads to my idea, that this is regional only (Europe).

Wait, wait.

On my Windows Laptop it’s working. This is super scary because both are connected through the same WiFi through the same router with the same website. On my Android Tablet I still receive 404.

I will clear browser cache and try again.

Ok, after clearing browser cache and force stopping Chrome it’s working on all devices again.

I do not get that. because 404 is distributed from the server if a requested target is not found. What has that to do with my browser cache?

Sorry for this guys.

That 404 error is the generic error shown by your browser. Plex actually has custom 404 error messages for our main page. We don’t have custom ones for app.plex.tv. Here is an example for our website if you have a bad URL.

If you’re lucky, you may even get this one.

Interesting, glad everything is sorted though. :+1:

There is definetely something going on behind the fence.

Even after emptying my browser caches I do experience errors at various locations within the app.plex.tv site. Sometimes I do not get covers, sometimes I do receive a “Ooops something went wrong”, etc.

Using my own remote URL (xxx.yyy.duckdns.org) works without any problems.
