While I am on my way to work I watch a TV show, recently Stargate Atlantis which has a minute long intro that plays after an opening sequence and I like to skip it but that basically means that after I skip ahead it redownloads from where I skipped to instead of just continuing from the already buffered on the device using more data.
Was the file being direct played? That is the only time when there is a read ahead buffer. If not in direct play, the buffer is only a few seconds.
The buffer shows orange almost halfway through the video file.
It’s working for me. See the small buffer just ahead of the current playing spot. As long as I jump within that area, it does not re-buffer for me.
It started working for a week, then after the last update it stopped buffering more than a couple of seconds and is randomly skipping forward.
What device do you have? I’ve been starting to see a similar issue with my Fire TV stick.
