I’ve been testing having a different Live TV DVR library for both admin and home users. Here’s what’s happening:
-
I have a home user account with access to Live TV and DVR turned on
-
I create a TV Shows DVR1 library giving access to the home user account
-
I set the DVR1 library recordings folder to E:/DVR1
-
I’m able to record from both the admin and home user account and it adds the show to the E:/DVR1 folder
-
Works as expected
-
I then create a DVR2 library and set the DVR2 recording folder to E:/DVR2
-
I give access to the home user account, while removing the home user access to the DVR1 library (just so there’s no confusion and it’s the only ADD TO LIBRARY option they have to save the recording)
-
Using the home user account, I record a TV show and select the DVR2 folder as the destination for the recording
-
The recording is put in the in the DVR1 library / folder
-
Doesn’t work as expected
-
I then delete the DVR1 library
-
I try another TV show recording under the home user account
-
Select DVR2 library
-
The recording is put in the DVR2 library / folder
-
Works as expected
-
So then I recreate the DVR1 library, assigning it again to the E:/DVR1 folder
-
I do not give the home user access to this library
-
I create another recording as the home user to pointing it to the DVR2 library
-
Works as expected
-
I then create a recording as admin and point it to DVR1
-
Works as expected
-
I create another recording as the home user to DVR2
-
It puts the show in the DVR1 folder
-
Doesn’t work as expected
The goal obviously is to separate all DVR libraries and recordings across admin/home users. For some reason, is seems as though the last library/folder used by the admin now becomes the only the library/folder home users can record to. I’ve tried all sorts of scenarios like having both DVR directories on the same drive, under the same folder, on a network drive, etc. Nothing works. I’ve even tried deleting the home user, recreating it and only giving it access to DVR2.
Any clue as to why this is happening or am I just simply missing something?
