… I’ve just been into the debug logs on the server, there’s no real reason being logged as to why it’s failed, no formatting errors as such. I expected it to be a UK date/time issues or something just as simple… But nope.
… Going to go back to internal EPG (gracenotes) for now… Why do Plex make things sooooo difficult some times
After the last beta update, I had some issues with the zap2xml epg i was using that were similar. I had to delete the tunner, reboot my plex server and them setup the tunner. Only them would it accept my xmltv file.
Yeh I must admit, I had to delete tuners so that I could re-add and attempt the xml upload. I just went around and around in circles.
It’s a bit odd, but TBH, I’ve not gone back and re-tried this recently. I wasted about an hour on it already so I think I’m going to park it until I’ve got time to waste again!
The channel id just has to be unique so it can find the show listings further down in the file. This is one from zap2it:
channel id=“I8.34732.zap2it.com”
With the advent of the HDHomeRun Premium TV Channels I am back at this. I’ve created a file called epg123.xmltv using epg123 with guide data created from a lineup for my OTA at my ZIP Code combined with the custom json lineup for the HDHomeRun Premium TV Channels. This xmltv imports just fine in Emby DVR but I get “Invalid or missing file” with Plex DVR.
In this process I’ve had the Plex Server go down on my and would not come back up without logging out the user and logging back in then manually restarting the server. I’m on Server Version 1.13.6.5339, which I believe is the latest beta server.
Please keep us informed of your progress. I just subscribed to HDHR Premium.
I am an EastCoaster so all my WestCoast feed channels are off by three hours. Really lowers
the WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor)!
Would gladly spend $25/yr for Schedules Direct (used them for years with MythTV) till Plex gets this
incorporated.
I think Silicon Dust has a hit on their hands here. For me, it is pretty close to ideal. Our local providers
all use DRM so I haven’t been able to record shows for a few years, except OTA.
I guess the answer is here and I got this information over at thegreenbutton.tv in the epg123 forum. I expect this to be in the guide on the Plex Website or at least answered by the Plex Team.
At any rate, I’ll try this after I get on my home network and can put the epg123.xml in the correct place.
I logged off the HTPC user and logged back in, reloading Plex Server then tried again.
I was able to push through but got to a screen saying, “Unable to load channel mappings”. I clicked “Continue” and got the same screen with a spinner where it previously said “Continue”.
I then clicked “Cancel” and it brought me back to the “Setup DVR” screen which now cannot even find my HDHR Connect Quatro even when I manually enter its ip address.
Apparently, this crashed my Plex Server and I need to reload it then log back in.
Has anyone seen anything from Plex with a timeline for adding HDHOMERUN Premium tv guide date out of the box? my 7 day trial of schedules direct is almost up and i am trying to decide if a 2 month subscription or a 1 year subscription would be better.
I think you may be loading more data in your xml file than plex likes. I have almost nothing checked off and it seems to like that. I can live without channel logos.
Thank you. I’ll give that a try but leaving behind data fully usable in WMC and Emby is a short term solution at best. I can probably do two scheduled tasks with epg123, one to create data for WMC and Emby and another special one for Plex but this is too much work and should just work natively.
Have a second instance of the application in a separate folder. Example plexxmltv and another wmcxmltv. Before they added the hdhomerun specific guide data to schedules direct I was trying to find a way to combine east, west, and OTA data.

[/quote] Plex doesn’t announce feature release timelines in advance. You’ll get it when you see it…
