Is it possible to use Plex on a Samsung TV without an internet connection?

Hello, I’m attempting to run Plex on my TV (QN95A) locally, but i can’t skip the sign-in screen during the startup. Even when I connect my TV to a network with internet access to sign in and then switch back to the local network, I’m prompted to sign in again. As a result, I’m unable to use Plex at the moment. Is there a way to bypass the sign-in step?

Unfortunately not. The Plex app is not really “installed” on the TV, but is only a tiny “downloader” app. Which then will download the actual app from the internet when you open Plex on the TV.

So this means that if anyone is facing internet connection problems due to ISP issues then Plex becomes somehow useless.

That’s unfortunate and a bit weird to tell the truth. But thanks for the response anyway.

Plex is a server that you access via the internet.

Unfortunately, yes.
With this kind of Plex client at least. There are others, which are indeed installed on the device (Android, Plex for Desktop, Plex HTPC, even Plex Web) which can continue to work during short-ish internet outages.
