Wow. That’s a huge downside. If I had known this earlier, which wasn’t openly communicated, i never would have paid for Plex. I am changing everything to do without cloud, my whole eco system and so on, and now reading I’m trapped in a birdcage. :joy:

Sure would be NICE if the architecture was such that Plex locally would still work if something like this happened or my home internet access was down.

I suppose it’s good news to find out that this is a general problem - thought I was going crazy because plex just stopped working on my SmartTV and I spent hours trying to figure out why

PMS showed there was an update so I downloaded it but it was a downgrade? (Got the warning as it was installing). Download page now seems to be unresponsive for me as well.

There should be absolutely no reason to authenticate with plex.tv if connecting on the same local network. I’d like to say what I think about it, but it involves bad words that would probably get me banned even though I have a paid subscription …

I’m not as young and many might think.
I was at least clever enough in my younger days to grab some good stuff and keep it.
I have 3 bottles left , if that’s saying anything.
