Plex Internal Server Error - Problem Signing into Plex

Looks like an outage at Plex…

Blocks remote access of Media Server, stops updates and forces local PMS to remain unclaimed.

I hope they fix this soon …

I really like the idea of getting news - but all pretty useless if you can’t log in!

yep - having this issue also, can’t access sod all externally now due to the main website being down.

This sucks that we cannot have our own local user & pass logins. Outages like this prove to me that I need to migrate away from plex to a self contained media server app at some point.

Ok, good. Glad I’m not the only one.

There is an outage . Lots of “A’s and E’s” flying and on it.

Agree!! I just tried to log in and it is saying my creds are incorrect… There is an issue for sure @elan Please check into… .Also, I will be responding to your message in the ATV thread today just to provide perspective on what we mean when we say ATV doesn’t function.

https://status.plex.tv/ still saying everything’s fine even though cant log in

This is why we shouldn’t have to validate with authentication servers every time we use our Plex.

My remote users are screwed now.

Email Password resets down too

Something died BADLY… Operations team is already on it.

could this cause my server on 1.9.3 (someone else reported the same in the dvr forum) to crash? trying to phone home but crashes?

Crash? I highly doubt it. What this outage is causing is an authentication problem for Plex Pass features. Existing connections should work (I’m told).

I would like to see your log files to confirm (Settings - Server - Help - Download logs).

Either that ZIP file or a ZIP of the Logs directory

Damn @ChuckPA

All he’s saying is he got a shiny new toy and he’d like to play with it - bit of a harsh reply

I can’t use my PMS either.

We’re ALL in the same boat and nothing any of us can do. How do you think I feel? I need to download things to support you guys and I can’t.

I’m not intentionally harsh. If I need to be harsh, sarcastic, or otherwise insensitive, I can arrange a suitable demonstration

Bah - Can’t use Plex at all. TV app is going to weird blank screen with “let us take you to the main page”
Tivo App says Grab a Tea Plex is down for Maintenance.
This isn’t just a Plex Pass auth issue!

@ChuckPA Look I get it, this is a ■■■■■■ situation, and I don’t want to seem rude. But how come that you have 0 backup for something that is this essential to your ability to function?

would love to, but it keeps crashing. lets see if the outage is the culprit or its your shiny new 1.9.3 version.

‘Crash’, to me, means the processes die and the browser kicks out a hard error.

Take the alternate path to getting the logs (grab a ZIP file of the Logs directory) That’s more than adequate

I think the issue here is not so much having a backup but a lack of disaster recovery and what seems like must be a single point of failure.

Maybe they will learn something from this situation and build in a limp mode where a local app can connect to a local server without their systems being up.

It was always a pain on my Samsung TV which apparently turned off networking on power off as I had to wait for it to build the network stack before Plex would be able to start.
