is Plex Pass fully featured outside of the United States?

Very little ‘small print’ about Plex Pass and I became curious/concerned after reading the marketing language “how awesome your antennae is.”

I live in the Philippines and am most interested in the ability to record US stations (i.e. NBC, AMC, etc). Will I be able to do this using Plex Pass over a foreign (PH) IP?

More info about Plex Pass would be appreciated/advised/wise.

Thank you.

Unless US stations are broadcast in your local area ‘over-the-air’, you won’t be able to record them.

Or to put it another way: the DVR and the new Live TV function both require a TV tuner and antenna. That by definition means that you can only receive what is broadcasted in your area.

Yes, or more precisely: what is broadcast in the area where the Plex server is situated.

Lol, I thought of mentioning that but I was trying not to confuse the user

Well this is just to dam easy then:

Buy a home in every TV Market on Planet Earth, install a bunch of antennas, use Plex DVR or MCEBuddy and connect remotely to all of your Plex Servers scattered across the globe.

Thanks, I knew exactly what you meant from your kind, helpful answer.

Well, that seals my decision to NOT pay for Plex Pass. Appreciate this forum for helping me here. I just feel badly for all the suckers who fall for the Plex ‘slick’ marketing. Why they don’t include the proverbial fine print (or even a proper FAQ on this) is really beside me. Cheeky.

No need to be bitter about it, they sell a subscription service and it’s up to us the consumers to decide if we need it. I decided I wanted it, you decided you don’t. Nothing strange here.

I live in the Philippines and have a lifelong Plexpass.
I bought it before Plex dreamed about DVR’s, Clouds and Live TV.

Although I have cable TV I personally have no need for a DVR or Live TV functions (expecially PH TV).

US stations are not broadcasted OTA in the PH. I believe you may record the channels depending on what TV tuner you may have and if the EPGs are available. I am thinking of setting up my relative in PH their PLEX environment so I can view their recordings or even view live TV (via HDGrandSlam and/or HDHRViewer). I am hoping SiliconDust’s HDHR-4DC (using DVB-C) would work with PH’s Skycable or the OTA HD Homerun Connect (ISDB-T)

My Plex friends in PH are able to view my recordings and/or Live TV (via HDHRViewer/HDGrandSlam).
