Transcoded streams are unwatchable on the Samsung Tab A (2016), even when the transcoded stream is a low quality. The transcode speed are 5.1 on the Synology NAS (according to Tautilli) which this help article suggests is far more than adequate: https://support.plex.tv/articles/201575036-why-is-my-video-stream-buffering/
Something to note about the above help article, it has a section to check the verbose log to see what speed is being recorded… the verbose log does not record what speed is being recorded. There is no term ‘speed’ in the entire log, and I have produced several logs to see if this omission is consistent.
The audio is completely fine, but the video shows one very pixelated frame, of which only a part of that frame will change every minute or so. I find this very odd because Tautilli insists the transcoding is processing well above the real-time. The stream bitrate of 1.7mbps is sufficient for the stable 30Mbps 4G reception that is being used via WiFi Hotspot.
Are Samsung Tab A (2016) models just not capable of displaying any kind of transcoded streams?
EDIT: Found the issue, had to disable Hardware Acceleration in PMS which is kind of annoying as the transcoding is much slower now.
