The new search is a pretty big step back in functionality and makes it harder to admin/maintain our media. Can we downgrade to an older PMS Windows version in order to get the old search function back?
Just checking on this… so there is absolutely no way to get the prior search function back on a desktop?
I would like to get the old search back as well. In the current results, I cannot see which movie I watched and which not. I also would like the bigger thumbnails the old search had.
also, the free on demand has no value to me, so that is a waste of screen real estate as well.
The change happened in the Plex players, you would need to try rolling back to an earlier version of the player.
I am running a version of the Plex server that is several months old and still have the new search.
If we are using Plex Web then the player comes bundled with the server.
My biggest gripe with the new search is that I type something in and when I stop typing Plex clears the search text box and replaces it with whatever was searched for in the prior session. I suspect there is some sort of ondocument load timer that is trying to be helpful and inserting my old search, but I type faster than that code fires.
I cannot find anything in my library anymore due to the amount of results in this dropdown. I really needed a whole page to peruse through the results and select what I wanted to watch. Imagine having 200 world war 2 documentaries, and at least 20 shows about World War 2, and then trying to scroll through the results when you type in World War 2… I have this issue with dozens of terms… I simply cannot sort through the content to make a selection. This is incredibly frustrating. I would pay for the old search
