is there a way to play local music on my android device?
The music tab only shows Tidal music.

Can anyone explain the logic of this? It’s great to have a server-centric model, but what about when I want to play my handful of favorite albums, and/or I’m away from a network signal? You seriously want me to have another app on my phone? If so, which one do you recommend? Thanks!

I thought plex could be used a local/system media player, on android, in the past?

You cannot select random files/folders on your device with the app. The “Open Video Files” only opens the DCIM folder so folks can open their videos they shot with the phones camera. It is not there to open random files, video or otherwise, on the device.

AFAIK Plex is not considered a “music” app on Android so “Open With” will not have Plex as an option when an mp3,etc is selected in files app.

Adding this feature makes sense. It’s expected that a music streaming app would also be capable of playing local files (like Google Play and many others).
