Is there any way to go back to the older Plex Home Theater interface?

The interface changes keep getting worse and worse. I thought the Plex Media Player interface was bad enough but changing it to the Web interface was horrible. I can’t use the old Plex Home Theater app as it hasn’t been updated in years and the video isn’t playing right anymore but the interface on that old version was light years better than what has been a steady decline into awfulness. If there were a way to skin the interface so I could use the old Plex Home Theater interface and use keyboard controls, that would be great.

Grab the plex media player beta version, it has the new interface(not the web interface) with keyboard controls.

That didn’t work. Still the web interface in the media player app. This sucks. The Media player interface sucked but it was still better than the web interface. Cant we go back the the Home Theater interface but with an updated app?

PMP will switch away from the web interface if you put it into its ‘tv fullscreen’ mode.
But you must use this icon:

I’m already in full screen. All that button does is make it go into a window and back to full screen.

Toggle it again one or two times. And don’t use the ‘maximise’ icon which appears at the upper window title bar, because this doesn’t achieve the same effect.

That didn’t work, but quitting the app and restarting it in windowed mode and then clicking that button did. The new interface isn’t great though. Would be nice to be able to skin it with the Plex Home Theater interface from a few years ago. Hasn’t gotten better than that. It had its issues but that was the best Plex interface to date.

Then you can try OpenPHT
