Hello - longtime Plex user here. I’ve enjoy Plex for years but following some recent Mac upgrades, re-installed Plex to find out that the venerable PHT is no longer. I “upgraded” to Plex Media Player and…holy crap. The standard interface is brutal, ugly, confusing, and a huge, massive, unfathomable step backwards. There are big icons mixed with smaller icons, awkward flow, you name it…just brutal.
Are there skins of any sort? Is there an option to change up the interface? I’m thoroughly unimpressed by PMP - what was seemingly a clean, simple interface seems dated, bloated and confusing.
There’s an option for using Kodi with a newly developed interface called Plex for Kodi. It’s pretty good, and may closer to what you’re looking for in terms of usability in terms of interface.
There seems to be some indication that the Plex for Kodi interface will be used as part of a revamp of PMP’s interface to be released in the future. Plex for Kodi is a beta and I think active development is on hold for the time being while the dev that was working on it is spending time on PMP.

Or you could use OpenPHT instead.
Thanks - I run PMP/Server from an older Mac mini, and also use the media player on the AppleTV (which is…alright from a GUI perspective, a bit awkward but it works).
I only just heard about OpenPHT and will definitely check it out now. Pretty disappointed in the new PMP - I assume they must have given some reason for the new system, but I can’t for the life of me figure out why anyone could ever prefer the new interface over the old.
Yes, the new interface is consistent across all players now. So no matter which player you use, you know how it works.
At least that was the idea.
