I recently updated my Plex server (Synology) to the newest version. Since then, the web interface on my browser has this brand new design, with this really ugly blue/gray. Is there a way to go back to the old interface?
The web app never looked like that.
This is the 10-foot user interface. It was never available in the web app.
If you want a 10-foot interface for operation with a remote control (or keyboard) instead of a mouse, download and install Plex HTPC: Introducing Plex HTPC!
I found the image searching on google. It’s absolutely what the web app used to look like. Here is another image, with the address bar showing it as the web app. This is what it looked like for me only last month.
Try navigating to a movie preplay.
There are only nuances between the versions.
The background color was darkened a bit to improve readability.
No, you cannot use an older version of the web app.
On what planet is that unambiguously a downgrade? It’s a color change, the tabs above the library no longer look like tabs, and the search bar is rounded now. Other than that, they look identical to me.
If it’s the color change, I sympathize with you. But I hope that you understand that color scheme preferences are 100% up to the viewer. What appeals to one person won’t appeal to another. You just got unlucky that this color change doesn’t appeal to you specifically.
Now, an option to set background color schemes (as with nearly all other apps out there) would be good. Heck devs, open up the API, let people customize all kinds of colors for various places of the UI and allow us to share these schemes with eachother. I love the customization options of Winamp, and I think you can easily allow color schemes like that to be configured client-side.
Color changes are easy. Look at a chrome extension like Stylish. I’ve got my Plex looking like way old school Plex color theme lol. Found this thread while searching to see what everyone else is doing.
