Issue between PMS and TS-253D

Server Version#: 1.23.4
Player Version#: Any device , Mobile phone, Tablet, Android TV devices running any version
QNAP NAS Model: TS-253D x86_64
QNAP NAS FW Version#: 4.5.4.1741 (26/07/2021)

Hi guys, I’m new on this forum and almost newbie on Plex (not so much…).
Some days ago I removed plex on my QNAP TS-253D because I completely forgot my details in order to enter on my PMS.
Before that, my PMS worked fine.
I tried to re-install it but when I try to launch my PMS on nas (http://ipofmynas:32400) it says that
"This application is in ipofmynas and it is not hosted by PLEX. Please keep on ony idf you recognize this server and you’d like to grant the access" and it asks me if I’m an existing user or I’m the new one.
If I put my details (the right ones!) it opens me a generic page and it won’t allow me to configure the server (basically it doesn’t open the page “how the plex works” in order to configure the server) and It won’t let me add any library I have on my QNAP.
If I try to click on “your media”, Plex says to me to GET PLEX MEDIA SERVER as if the app I launched wasn’t the right one.

I tried to remove the app, checked by putty any existing folder or file of PLEX, reboot the NAS, tried to install the new version of Plex manually and/or the older one of the QNAP app but nothing changed. I even tried to install it inside and outside my home network but nothing.

I really don’t know what can I do.

Thank you all for help me.

Marco

First of all…

Is you QNAP running an IP address that is in Private Address space mode?
( 10.a.b.c, 172.16.a.b → 172.32.a.b , 192.168.a.b )

Is the workstation you try and configure it from on the same IP net?

Have you tried with your browser in incognito mode?

Hi dane22, thank you for your reply!
Firstly, my QNAP is under a public domain mode (outside it has an ip address 2.xxx.xx.xxx, inside my homenet a classic 192.xxx.x.xxx). I tried to configure the server inside and outside my network but the result is the same, PMS won’t let me claim my server.
Have even reboot my router but still can’t see the server.
Have to try in incognito mode, I will try and let you know. Thank you again.

Little update: tried in incognito mode (with firefox) too, same problem.

If so, the issue might be due to you connected QNAP directly to the internet.

Not something I would recommend!

When said, try this one:

Download the linux version, and run it directly on your QNAP using SSH

hi Dane, thank you so much, problem solved launching by SSH claimpms!
It fixed the server claiming allowing me to add the library.

Thank you indeed!
