I am using the plex iOS app as a remote control for Rasplex, but am currently experiencing some issues. The controls all work fine apart from the options to jump forward/back during playback.
So I can only play, pause and stop a video, but cannot fastforward or rewind. I am currently using v0.31.
Anyone know how I can fix this?

The plex guys are working on the plex API for this feature. Once they have "modified" the current API, we'll look into this.
I am also using an iPad 2 (iOS 6.1.3) as a remote controller for Rasplex, running on the 512Mb Pi. However, apart from being able to choose the PI as the playback device, and getting a message about the media is now playing on the PI, nothing happens. The media does not play and I don't get the chance to see if the controls misbehave the way downbylaw posted. I can only dream. Is there an obvious setting that I haven't yet come across?
Otherwise, I can control the PI with a keyboard and view media.

I installed my rasplex yesterday, and have a lot of doubts...
My raspi is connected via ethernet, and recognize perfectly my PMS. I'm trying to use the ios app as a controller. The app recognizes the raspi, but don't work at all. My question is: If the raspi, the PMS and the iphone are in the same network....Do i need a wifi adapter in the Pi to "read" the command of the ios app, or it must be supposed to work without wifi support?
Sorry, maybe is an obvious question, but i'm on a -15 level still...

iOS App should work the same either with wired ethernet or wifi
We're talking about the plex app in my iphone, or the ios remote app?
Your setup is exactly the same as mine and it works for me: my pi is wired, my iOS is wireless
Oh, I am using the plex app. I didn’t even realise there was another app, what is the ‘iOS remote app’
Plex App contains the remote, there is no other iOS remote app
Plex/iOS 3.1.3 Remote App seems to not work with Rasplex 1.35 - 1.36 and 1.37.
Rasplex is running on a RasPi 512Mb that is wired connected.
I can see the Rasplex in the Players section, I can select it but when clicking on any available Video from my PMS nothing happen on Rasplex. The App says that the video is playing on Rasplex.
AirPlay is working smoothly.
Any advice ?

There are 2 PMS on my network. 1 on a QNAP TS-412 and 1 on an iMac.
Shutting down the PMS on the QNAP the iOS Remote is working nice with Rasplex 0.1.37
Any experience ?

I have started to track this one down, but i came to a point where it might be on PMS side. Will check that with Elan to see if i'm right :)
I made a new test:
1 PMS on iMac and 1 on a Linux Ubuntu
Same problem as before:
I lost the remote control as far as I choose to play something on the new PMS. Also if you revert back to control the old PMS, play actions are unresponsive, and you need to shutdown one of the PMS's.

More or less the same problem. I can't control my raspi anymore. The iOs remote doesn't work at all (It works fine with plex in my iMac and in my Mac Mini. Recognizes the raspi, but the controls doesn't work at all. Also have isssues with my logithech DiNovo Mini: Some few times work, maybe always loose the bluetooth connection and doesn't works...
Must i make some adjustments in Preferences to fix this?. Is horrible to have a wired keyboard attached to the pi !!!

I have another question in this thread (but slightly different).
I run two rasplex units, and when both is powered up I only see one in my iOS-clients. If I shut down the one I can see in the clients, and then restarts the client (iOS) - the other unit is present and possible to select.
Controlling the units works like a charm as long as I can select them in the list ;)
Anyone else with the same problem?
