Ever since I updated to OpenPHT 1.5.1, I’ve experienced freezing and eventual crashes when navigating the home screen on my Mac Mini running OS X 10.7.5 (the latest it can run on it). Generally it’s on startup when using my remote which is controlled using a Pulse-Eight USB to CEC adapter. I’ve started clean logs since it happens consistently and was hoping someone can tell me if it’s skin related or an OpenPHT issue. I’m supplying three (3) logs, one for the x64, one for x86, and one when it crashed when OpenPHT was left alone. Issue does not happen with OpenPHT 1.5.0. I also changed the skin to the original just in case that was the cause and it appeared to have resolved it but then it crashed when I left it alone. It did last longer open the the other times but not by much. At all times, it usually freezes first then crashes afterwards.
Any help is appreciated with this. I usually leave the MacMini running with OpenPHT open but haven’t been able to since the update. If you need andy more info, please let me know so I can try to provide it.
Thanks for your log-files, however you will need to enable debug logging for the logs to be more useful in tracking down the change that could cause this new behavior.
See How to enable Debug Logging on https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/201806858 for assistance
The crash report service is currently not operational, please attach one or more of the crash reports you find in /Users/administrator/.plexht/temp/CrashReports/
Ok, here are the logs requested. The OpenPHT log has Debugging Enabled. I will attach a crash report service log at a later time. There were a few .dmp files but not sure which was required. I’ll look to see inside that folder after a new error appears as I noticed that too in the OpenPHT logs.
Ok, tried both and OpenPHT still crashed. This was just going through the menus and not selecting anything though. Here’s both logs. Please let me know if there’s anything else. I’m going to run some diagnostics on my machine also just in case.
I tried a couple of things so far. I disconnected some USB peripherals cause I was also getting a kernel panic after OpenPHT happened to crash a few times in succession. This log is having those disconnected and also the .dmp file that OpenPHT referenced in the log on attempting to upload through CrashReporter and failing.
Thanks for the crash report, looks like there was a crash while reading a scaled image/texture.
The crash report service is now operational, any pending crash report should be submitted the next time OpenPHT is started.
Unfortunately, crash still occurred. Here are the logs. Please let me know if you’d like me to try anything else or if there is anything else you need.
I can see that it crashed at the same point yet again. I missed to include one fix that was already included in rasplex and the upcoming 1.5.2 version. Will post links to new test-builds later.
The crash is related to the resolution of one of the images loaded. If you enable the skin setting “Disable all slideshows” it would be less likely to crash.
I believe those builds may have fixed the issue. I haven’t been able to get them to crash yet when scrolling through the home screen like before. I will keep using them throughout the day or two just to make sure.
Running OpenPHT 1.5.2 32-bit on Mac OSX 10.6.8, I also have crashes when scrolling through the home screen. The logs in the console are not interesting, but I’ve attached a few crash dumps for a GitHub issue:
