Issue with Plex server installed on Synology : cannot claim the server even after fresh reinstall

got an issue with a plex media server installed on Synology since I swaped email accounts. Cannot claim the server and after plex media server reinstallation on Synology… seems there’s also a codec issue.

Server Version#: PlexMediaServer-1.18.2.2058-e67a4e892-x86_64.spk installed on Synology DS916+ with DSM 6.2.2.24922-4 exposing services on 192.168.xxx.xxx:32400/web/index.html
Player Version#:Web on windows 10 Edge or Samsung player 4.5.1

Did switch to new account (email address) because the new email address was the one linked to the yearly pass subscription.

Lost the server in the plex, did an uninstall of plex server and reinstall on Synology. Whatever the email account I used now, it keeps on telling me “No secure connection to server” “claim it”… When I press on “CLaim It”, it does not work. Tried to delete preference.xml and server PID. no change

While I see movies in the web client using the above URL , I cannot play them “required codec not found”. On the Samsung client, I don"t see any movies hosted on the Synology.

I’m kind of stuck now.

Try forcing it unsecure.

  1. Log the browser out
  2. Open an incognito window
  3. http://ip.addr.of.syno:32400/web?secure=0 (this turns it off for that one time)
  4. After it’s claimed and back in, Use the normal URL.

  1. I opened a new “in private browsing” session with windows 10 Edge
  2. I put the URL you mentionned
  3. it turns into http://IPsyno:32400/web/index.html
  4. tells me there’s an unclaimed server on the network and asks me to claim it
  5. new thing now… is for once like you wrote, when I click on “claim it”, it refreshes the browser window (while previously, it was doing nothing)
  6. back with a refreshed browser windows, same situation… “an unclaimed server is unsecured” do claim it… but this time, it does not refresh the windows, it is just doing nothing
  7. log in from a new window; such like I click on Plex in Synology Packet manager and click on open it (using http://IPsyno:32400/web/index.html), it asks for signing using email address (cached), so it proceed to next step and then a prompt says “an error occurred during the logging process”
