Hello,
Recently I’ve had some remote users complain they cannot connect to my PLEX server (roughly 2 days ago) via their Samsung Smart TV’s even though it worked 3 days ago no issues, I’ve checked the log files and nothing jumps out that there is any issues, Tautulli says my server is Online and reachable from external. I’ve had a couple of them restart their modems (they are on wireless). The only thing they could tell me is that the PLEX app updated and now the interface looks different (UNO). I checked my server and I can connect by going to the internal IP address, I have a Samsung TV (still has the old interface) which works fine and even from my phone on LTE the server is fine. The remote connection has a green check and I’ve checked all my firewall rules PLEX is allowed out, like I’ve said this setup has been working fine for over a year no issues. The error they seem to be getting is “The selected server requires secure connections but cannot be reached securely”. On my server end I do have Secure Connection set to REQUIRED from preferred. However, this was working fine for a year. The other thing I noticed is when I go to plex.tv and click on ‘Launch’ it says my server is unreachable but when I type in the IP address I can get in no issues. The only difference I noticed was from plex.tv the web version is 4.0.1 and the internal version is 3.104.2… Any help or guidance is appreciated.
PS: If it helps I’m using pfSense 2.4.4 with Domain overrides and Plex.direct is setup correctly under custom server.
Server Version#: 1.16.4.1469-6d5612c2f
