Issues w/ PMS on Mac after HDD replacement

I don’t know that that is screenshot is supposed to be showing me.

Are trying to start from scratch? meaning a totally clean server with no libraries

at this point lets start from scratch please…it will take several hours for it to rebuild as i have over 20K music files

if you want to start from scratch

  1. log into user 1

  2. delete everything as described in Uninstall Plex Media Server | Plex Support

  3. log into user2 and do the same

  4. the applications folder that is by default the one that is in the Finder sidebar is the system Applications folder all users can launch the apps that are in there. If you only want user2 to be able to launch Plex Media Sever.app then I would put it in their applications folder so user1 does not accidentally launch it.

I think i understand what the issue is now, thx . i will follow these instructions and update shortly

Is this normal?

Been spinning for 10min
here is the PMS logs
Plex Media Server.log (600.6 KB)

did you delete the PMS folder and plist file before you launched?

plist? where is that located? sorry

in this user tinglemedia a PMS folder did not exist in applications. it has been removed everywhere else

When logged into that user go to ~/Library/Preferences and delete com.plexapp.plexmediaserver.plist but reboot the computer, or log out (not switch user) and log back in, before launching server again

Followed instructions, still not operational.
is this normal?

Ok, will try again 2mrrw…wanted to resolve this to justify purchasing the life-time pass, if we got it working…
