Plex Server opens wrong server/database

Server Version#: 1.24.3.5033
Player Version#:
Hi folks!
I’m hoping someone can help me out with an issue I’m having with PMS.
So, I think (it’s been a couple years) I installed this under my admin account in W10. I then configured under my user account. I mention this because I think this is what’s causing my issue.
The issue is that occasionally, when I go to watch something, the client can’t find my server “SuperPlex.” Instead it’s using a server with the name of the W10 host running PMS “Apollo”, and this host has no libraries set up.

This happens infrequently (usually when I have a guest there to watch something with me). I suspect it’s after a reboot due to updates. It doesn’t always happen. Rebooting and logging in with my user account fixes it.

How can I stop this from happening?

Note: I think I had this posted in the wrong area, so deleted and posted here.

Thanks,
Mike

Log in to the Windows user account which shall not start the Plex server.
Look for the Plex task tray icon.
Right-click it and disable “start upon login”.
Log out of this user account. (Important. Do not directly click on a different user name to simply “switch user”.)

Hi Otto.
Thanks for the reply. I logged in under my admin account to deselect it, but it wasn’t running. When I start it manually, it isn’t set for 'start on login.

How many Windows user accounts are there in total on your machine?

I’ve got 4 regular users and one admin for a total of 5.

Then try the other accounts as well. Make sure that none of them appears as “logged in” except the one under which the Plex server shall run.

There is a registry setting, which prevents Windows from starting up the last-used user account upon boot-up (yes, even before the password of that user has been typed in).
This will ensure that Plex server will only start up after you have logged in to the right user account. See Plex now available without logon - #11 by OttoKerner
