Hi all - I recently purchased an Nvidia Shield, and began running a Plex server on it. One of the shows I’ve added is Kamen Rider (which is really a metaseries, but for some reason TVDB groups it into one series, with each series getting its own season). I added several seasons of Kamen Rider (probably eight or nine) to it all at once, and all of the metadata loaded properly and with no issues. Over the course of a week, I added episodes here and there to the series with no issue. About a week or so later, I added an episode to a pre-existing season, and its metadata did not load. I tried refreshing the metadata, which for some reason got rid of all of the metadata for that season (it just displayed the series’ poster and generic “Episode X” names).
I kept refreshing the metadata and rebooting the server, and the same thing happened to every other season–it was still matched with the correct show, and the correct season and episode numbers were appearing, but all of the posters, titles, and descriptions were gone (except for the main series poster, though eventually, somehow, that disappeared too). This is a persistent issue, and I have had no issues with loading the metadata for any other series on my server.
Server OS: SHIELD Android TV SW Version 7.0.2 (29.10.175.21).
PMS Version: 1.13.2.5149 (it is my understanding there is a more current version, but it does not appear to be available for SHIELD yet).
Affected TV Show: Kamen Rider (TheTVDB link).
Here’s everything I’ve tried so far:
- Restarted Plex Media Server as well as the whole device.
- Unmatched the entire series and matched it again.
- Confirmed that file names and folder structure conform to Plex naming conventions. Example:
\NVIDIA_SHIELD\PLEX\TV\Kamen Rider\Season 22\Kamen Rider - S22E45 - Tipping of the Scales. - The Plex Dance (Removed content from PLEX directory, full library scan, empty trash, clean bundles, move content back in place, full library scan) many times.
- Confirmed that “local media assets” is at the bottom of every metadata agent list.
- The solution found here (clearing out the
\Plex Media Server\Plug-in Support\Cachesdirectory). - Tried adding the series season by season, several times. Interestingly enough, the first five or six seasons I add (regardless of the order I add them in) fetch their metadata flawlessly. The next 3-5 do not fetch their metadata at first, but do so just fine once I refresh all metadata for the series. Once I add a tenth or eleventh season, refreshing the metadata does not work, no matter how many times I try it. The season will not load its metadata.
Maybe I’m missing something obvious? I’ve done a lot of googling but I haven’t found a solution that works yet. Any help would be much appreciated!
