The following things are not working with the last 2 beta’s (that were working fine before)
Auto resume for any media after phone call or interruption during playback
Example: Listening to any form of audio (podcasts, music, audiobook) get a phone call now I have to switch back to the app (usually when I’m in a gps app while driving) or pull down notification shade and press play.
Remembering last position of file after closing app and restarting
Example: listening to an audiobook (one file, not chaptered) 5 hours into the book and pause > close down app > restart app > restore the minimized file from the bottom of app screen > press play button > book starts at the beginning of file (sometimes without audio).
**Not showing Play History on any Audiobooks in PMS since January 2019 **
Example: This is an audiobook I listen to (on my Roku) back in January
This is an audiobook I’ve been listening to for over 5+ hours this weekend
I fear the beta’s are losing more functionality than gaining.
This is my biggest pet peeve of the mobile app. This really isnt asking much to have plex mobile act as a real music player. Seems to be persistently broken between multiple versions of the app now.
I’ve also paused the track in the middle of a work out via the pause/play button on my headphones. The app somehow dies during this time and when I have to go back and force it to reopen, all track progress is lost. I can see that this is way more annoying in an audiobook, but its still quite annoying when your somewhere in the middle of an hour and a half track.
All the little quality of life changes are really starting to tail off with plex these days. It’s quite infuriating to get ‘new features’ when they don’t seem to care about making the core features rock solid again.
I very much welcome any plex employee to comment on this and prove that I am wrong. It’s getting quite tiring to know I’m paying for a product and the basic uses of said product are not living up to par.
