I am unable to get Plex to augment Artist Radio with Tidal Tracks.
Despite the logs indicating that it is including Tidal tracks in radio (Radio: Extracted a track from 'ODESZA' (source is Music) in 648 ms.) none of these tracks actually appear in the Play Queue.
To test I skipped though the play queue to see if these would appear later in the queue and they never appeared. I never once saw a Tidal track in the play queue and skipped though 3 pages of tracks in Plexamp
I am also unable to add Tidal artists to the “Artist Mix Builder” but it’s not clear if this ever worked.
I tried an artist radio station and while I had to go out a couple of pages out in the play queue, it started to bring in some shared and TIDAL tracks. Are you sure you looked far out enough? It starts local and moves its way out, if you want more sooner, the new DJ Doppelgänger is probably more up your alley, and you can run it on a track radio, e.g.!
You’re right, I had to go much further than I thought I would have - after 5 PQ pages Tidal tracks started showing up. I’m unsure why I had anticipated them appearing earlier in the PQ.
I actually tried to use DJ Doppleganger at first but was having issues with that being greyed out. However, now I’m unable to reproduce that - Doppleganger is actually what got me to sign up for Tidal again as I’ve been needing to discover new music! excited to try it out!!
Do you think being able to include Tidal artists in the Artist Mix Builder may one day be possible, or are there some technical limitations that make it difficult?
I’ve added so much new music in the last few weeks as a result of that DJ, hope you have a similar experience
That’s a tricky one because the server computes the artist/album mixes and it would need to be enhanced to include TIDAL stuff (which would also make it much slower).
That makes sense, and it honestly just occurred to me that I can add Tidal artists to my library, and that does actually appear to let me add the artist to the artist mix builder.
That’s perfectly good solution for my desire.
