Issues with Unraid hitting metadata.plex.tv

Plex Server Version#: 4.147.1
Unraid Version #: 7.1.4

I have been moving my plex media server from a windows machine to an Unraid server. I thought everything was good until I realized that plex was not running in Plex Pass mode. I removed the claim and reclaimed it with nothing happening..

My main PC can see it just fine and has no issues. The unraid server is the only thing on my network having this issue. I run a UDM SE and have the dns setup for 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8

I run dig and see this:

root@Tower:~# dig metadata.plex.tv ; <<>> DiG 9.20.8 <<>> metadata.plex.tv ;; global options: +cmd ;; Got answer: ;; ->>HEADER<<- opcode: QUERY, status: NOERROR, id: 8147 ;; flags: qr rd ra; QUERY: 1, ANSWER: 0, AUTHORITY: 1, ADDITIONAL: 1 ;; OPT PSEUDOSECTION: ; EDNS: version: 0, flags:; udp: 1232 ;; QUESTION SECTION: ;metadata.plex.tv. I don’t get why the plex team keeps making this system worse. I miss the early days of plex. This should not be such a problem to confirm your Plex Pass membership!

I emailed the Plex Billing because of course, you can’t get ahold of anyone at this company to actually help with issues even being a paid customer. No one from Plex even bothered to reply to my forum post, but the billing person tells me to put plex logs in here and reproduce an issue which I can’t even reproduce. But here are the logs anyways. I’m sure someone from plex will maybe get back to me next year or never anyways.

Well isn’t this surprising, nobody from Plex even ■■■■■■■ bothers to help their customers. It’s no wonder this product has become crap since the new owners took over.

Maybe it’s time for developers to create their own version that doesn’t get ruined by corporate greed and terrible management.

What is the actual problem you are still having?

metadata.plex.tv has nothing to do with checking for Plex Pass.

Oh this can get resolved now. I ended up spending 4 weeks of my life trying to resolve this myself no thanks to anyone at your damn company. I just wanted to complain so people that are thinking of sending this company any money avoid it because you will NOT GET HELP WHEN YOU NEED IT!
