Like most I got the hack email so went to change my password, as soon as I reset my password I lost my server. I have a MyCloud PR4100 with the Plex media server installed, I’ve uninstalled the software and reinstalled but no luck. I’ve tried to change my password a number of times after getting automatically logged in but it keeps saying the current password is incorrect and each password reset email I ask to be sent doesn’t arrive. So now no server and no ability to reset the password, also I’m getting account login notifications from around the country so assuming it has been hacked What do I do?
I realize you have tried. We should be able to get you back and running.
The overall picture is this
You follow that article and request a password reset email.
You get that email with a link in it.
You copy the link and paste that link, not click it, paste it into a private browser / incognito mode window.
Hit Return to go to the URL you just pasted.
Things happen.
If you can’t accomplish those first 4 steps in general, then you’ll have to be specific about exactly what doesn’t work. For example, when I requested a password reset email, mine was marked as spam. So it took some extra looking to find my email.
Let us know exactly what’s going on, specifically where in the article you get stuck etc.
The first issue I think I need to overcome is that I seem to be unable to receive the password reset email, I’ve checked junk/spam but nothing comes through
Now, hoe do I get my server to work? I’m logged in, and the previous item that was playing via my phone still plays so i assume it can access the server, but nothing is showing up and no server settings within the app. I see lots of people seem to be having the same issue, i’m using a Mycloud PR4100
