Unable to access Plex Library

I am not sure how to contact support, for some technical assistance… so I am posting here.

When I am logged into Windows and click the PLEX icon in the system tray to access Media library, I am prompted for a password. I click forgot password - and tried my user account and email no email is sent. I was eventually able to reset my PLEX account on PLEX.TV - After that password reset, I closed PLEX on W10, and reopened PLEX - The password was set on Plex.TV does not work on the library.

Using Plex.TV Account Management I can reset the password, but I need to know the old password - Any suggestions?

No, you don’t. You have reset your password already. The old password is gone now.

Use Method 2.2

I’ll take a look. Also, no email is sent when you open the Plex locally attempt to login and click forgot password - no link\email is ever sent.

Unfortunately, your email provider is known for delaying/suppressing these kinds of mails from Plex.
If you have one available, you should use an Email address from a different company for your Plex account.

I tried the password reset several time for 2 weeks. Never seen one until today, when i reset my forum password.

I used the registry 2.2 to reset, I am logged in but never see a message to claim.
I used in inprivate window to access: http://localhost:32400/web

I do have a registry backup of [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Plex, Inc.\Plex Media Server] from March of this year.

If you are using a Server edition of Windows, see Plex install fix for Windows Server (Claim issue)

You need to have internet access.
Don’t use a web browser which has been restricted to disable certain browser features, like Brave etc.

thanks, I just followed https://support.plex.tv/articles/204281528-why-am-i-locked-out-of-server-settings-and-how-do-i-get-in/ - for windows, that worked.
