Jan 19th update causes slow interface

Server Version#: 1.30.2.6563
Player Version#: 1.62.2.3451-fb8ac0ae

ever since the January 19th update all interface interactions are extremely slow
as an example when clicking a partially played episode it takes several seconds to bring the small dialog window up that asks ifd i want to resume or restart the episode

i am willing to provide whatever troublshooting info is required i am unsure of what could be needed

the issue is not present on the plex web interface leading me to believe something changed in the last player update

steps taken already

  1. Updated plex server docker
  2. uninstalled plex app restarted affected system and reinstalled app
  3. checked for abnormal resource usage when the issue occurs(none present)

On what platform are you experiencing these client issues (e.g. Windows/Linux/Mac, what particular distribution/version)?
I assume this is not just because your server takes some time to spin up its drives?

this occurs on windows 10 (it is up to date not sure which RC this would be at this point)
no this has never been an issue previously (eliminating spin-up as cause) and no changes have recently occurred to the NAS hosting the docker

also reiterating using a web browser instead of the player it has the expected response time

leading my belief that something changed in the desktop client

No clue what has changed but the issue has resolved itself

For whatever it’s worth and in case someone else stumbles on this post, I was having the same issue with Android-based players (both on Nvidia Shield and a Pixel). Basically it was almost painful doing anything with the app on either device.

However, it seems that sending a “Force stop” to the app and then clearing all Data (not just cache) fixed the issue.

EDIT It does not for me, and even stranger it seems to just be affecting Android-based players. The IOS and Linux ones are fine. The problematic Android versions are 9.15.0.38159.
