I am finding that on my new 4k TV (a Panasonic TX-40JX870) some movie files playback either jerkily or stick and don’t play at all. The files I’ve identified are .m4v . The issue seems to exist whether I use a wired or a wireless connection to my router.
Other .m4v’s play fine, and everything seems to play back with no problem in my previous Samsung TV. Could there be an issue with the Panasonic?
Check the audio and video codecs. Odds are some of them are incompatible or not optimized and causing transcoding.

Got same problems, some episodes in 1080p just hangs after a while from my Mac to 2021 Samsung tv, at the exact same timecode.
I can run it directly from my Mac trough Airplay with no issues.
I got a 1TB router at home, so speed is no issue.
However i see references for auto adjust quality requires Plex server 1.8.1 or higheer, but theres no other vers available than 1.26, how do you explain that?
