I admit it: While waiting for the remote control feature to come back to Plexamp v3 I was almost lost and actively looking around for an alternative.
But … I just love Plex(amp) way too much for us to go separate ways. So I’ve sticked around and I just can’t tell you how happy I was after installing v4 and seeing it doing the good old trick. To some, it might look just like another feature but to me it makes all the difference.
So, dear Plex team: Thanks for keeping your word and for all the good work. It’s a true beauty!

I was also wondering if there’s any chance to bring Album ratings, just as we have song ratings, to the Plexamp UI, at the moment it’s only available on Plex and without half stars.
This the only feature missing for me now that remote control is available. Please consider it!
Remote controlling certain Plex client types requires a running Plex server to be present in the local network segment.
If your server is only remote, you need to set up a second server in your home network. (It doesn’t need to have any media content on it; it just needs to be “there”.)
