Just Another Post Requesting Audiobook Support

I know this has been requested before, but I wanted to give my opinion about how I think audiobook support could work. I currently have it setup with and working on my library but there are things that make it a pain.

So here is what i would envision audiobook support needing.

  • Support for single, chapterized, files with the ability to pick up where you left off. Consider the book complete when you reach the last chapter or stop when at a very low percentage through the entire media.
  • Support for multiple file book. This is already done but needs an easy way to pick up where you left off. You can resume playing but a prompt on the home screen or a played/unplayed mark on the items would help.
  • Obviously a new metadata agent. People have already developed 3rd party agents so at least it would not be breaking new ground.
  • A choice to either use fast forward or next as the default action. I would see fast forward being the default for most, but ideally this would be on a per book level. I can see single file books would want to fast forward or skip chapters while multi-file books may be more more inclined to skip to next file.

Thanks for all you guys do.
