First, I’m using Shield as my server and platform to watch stuff on my tv.
When PMS got all messed up a couple months ago I stayed patient and waited for them to send an update. I finally got it to work, although I could never get the server to connect to my external hard drive. It’s just been using internal storage to dvr shows and stuff. Today, I figured I’d try to connect to my hard drive again… still no. So I checked for an update and there was one so I installed it. Went back into Plex and tried to connect to my Ex. Hard drive again and after 10 min, nothing. Just sat there spinning. And no, I do not have a lot of files, just a few shows that were recorded. Rebooted shield and now my PMS is gone. Tried clearing cache and that did nothing. I do not want to uninstall pms because when I did that 2 months ago that was a big headache to try and get it working somewhat. So I’m back to where I was 2 months ago. What’s the deal with Plex?? I loved the app when it was working but now I’m starting to feel like I’m throwing money away when it won’t work all the time and I have to scour the internet for help… Does anyone have a clue why this is happening and can actually fix this issue? It’s been months and a couple updates now and it’s still the same problems.
