Player Version#:
Automatic remote access is hard to establish and even after the TPLink AC3200 router acknowledges the Plex presence, connection is not stable.
I haven’t been able to secure a manual setting specially because the AC3200 require either a XX or XXXX format for Port triggering.
Anyone with a successful setting for a TPLink router?
Port forwarding, not port triggering.
Perhaps TPLink terminology…
…Port Triggering is used to forward traffic on a certain port to a specific server on the network…
No “forwarding” wording on AC3200.
Try “virtual servers” instead.
In my mind “triggering” is more something like “port knocking”. A look into the manual confirms this https://static.tp-link.com/res/down/doc/Archer_C3200(EU)_V1_UG.pdf
It worked, thank you.
P.S. Plex showed up again under Upnp…let’s see what the behavior is
That is connected to the DLNA preference in Plex. Don’t activate it if you want to exert strict access control for your younger household members, as DLNA doesn’t support any from of user authentication.
