Kid accidentally deleted their managed user profile, any way to restore?

I came in to the living room after work tonight to find that my older daughter had deleted the kids’ managed user profile and re-created it from the Roku app (she wanted her user’s letter icon to be a different color :exploding_head:)

Of course, now all of their watch history is gone, and everything is reset to default. I have to set up their libraries, home screens, pinned sources, etc.

Is there any way to restore the managed user, or will I just have to weed through everything and try to get it back the way it was again?

We can’t restore if from your account but possibly if you restore a database backup from server the watch data for the old managed account might be there and you can use webtools to transfer it to a new managed account. But this is not something I have ever tried.

Are the managed users not stored locally somewhere? I have nightly backups of my PlexMediaServer folder as well, or is it all stored on Plex’s web service?

I’ll give it a try with restoring the library backup, but not sure if the WebTools will show the old deleted user?

No. The actual accounts are stored at Plex.tv like every account has always been. When you deleted the account the accountID was destroyed on our end and creating a new one will not get same ID.

I’m honestly not sure if the restore will work either as I have never tried it but using webtools was the only thing i could think of.

I tried out the suggestion, but I’m having trouble because the old user isn’t there (I don’t think it’ll let me select the old nonexistent user in web tools now), is there a way to find the account id of the new user account to try to manually update the database table?
