Hi, I’ve set up a Kids profile, and created a file for their movies and for their tv shows. The kids TV shows and their movies are in both my profile and theirs.
However, within the files, tv shows are not showing up in their profile, just mine. Not all, just some.
No idea what’s going on, as I’ve set them all up identically.
How did you setup sharing / sharing restrictions for your kid’s account?
With sharing restrictions enabled its expected that your kid won’t see all available media. In case you’re using a default restriction profile Plex will hide certain shows based on its content rating. The same goes for custom restrictions if certain shows don’t meet all the criteria for sharing.
Hi, thanks for your reply. I’ll need to look into it. I didn’t think that would be the issue, as I’ve only put kids TV shows in that folder. But I guess what you’re saying is there’s a chance that the rating might not have been applied, so the Plex default is assuming it’s not appropriate? Makes sense I suppose. I’ll have to have a look. Thanks again for your reply.
Keep in mind Plex is consolidating the content rating on the show level… so even a single episode with a higher rating can „ruin“ the show being available to your kids
Yes, that was it. I changed the setting to allow any rated show to be accepted in my kids profile, and now the shows are there. It shouldn’t be a problem because I’ll be the one who is putting the content in there, so it’ll all be age appropriate.
Thanks for figuring that out for me! My kids wanted to watch Young Indiana Jones, now they can!
