Labels are wrong

I have a ton of labels showing up for content I don’t even have, like movies. I also have labels applied to my home movies from manufactured movies. How do I straighten this all out?

What exactly do you mean by ‘labels’?
Movie titles? Or other metadata?

Start with this:

preparation

Go to

  • Settings - Server - Agents - Shows - TheTVDB

In there, grab the line ‘Local Media Assets’ with your mouse and drag it downwards, so it ends up being at the bottom of the stack of active agents.
Repeat the same under

  • Settings - Server - Agents - Shows - TheMovieDatabase
  • Settings - Server - Agents - Movies - Plex Movie
  • Settings - Server - Agents - Movies - TheMovieDatabase

file names and folder structure

After checking file names and folder structure, perform the Plex Dance

Put home videos in Other Videos library, so Plex won’t try to match them against IMDB, TVDB, etc.

See Media Preparation link provided by OttoKerner. Specifically the section on personal media.
