When I was unable to edit the library, I deleted it but was unable to add it back..
Why would I suddenly be unable to edit a library and How can it be fixed short of uninstalling the PMS installation and rebuilding everything from scratch?
I am having the same issues on my windows computer. Any solutions?
The excerpt from the log doesn’t fit with the screen shots.
The log says a library was created which uses the new scanner and someone was trying to combine this with an old agent.
The screen shots show both old scanner and old agent.
The old agent and scanner are deprecated. Their code hasn’t been touched for years and probably never will again.
Flipping agents back and forth from new to old is almost a guarantee for a messed up library.
Create a new library with “Plex TV Series” as both scanner and agent.
Are you using the hosted web app? In a browser without active browser add-ins?
Is there a preferred way? I’ve tried many ways and all produced the same results.
Then it might be that your library is already toast, I’m afraid.
See if you can create a new one (but leave the old one intact for now).
I’m not sure I understand what you are suggesting.
In my original post, I said that I deleted the “TV Show” library and the PMS is not allowing me to add it back. The only thing I haven’t tried is completely uninstalling the PMS and rebuild it from scratch.
Sorry, I didn’t read it that way. I can only see that you are trying to edit a library.
If the linked post was made by you, I cannot know that this was your old user name.
So now I’m confused. When you said my Library is probably toasted, I decided to just uninstall the PMS and reinstall. As I was uninstalling, I discovered a Repair option.
The Repair option failed so I proceeded with the uninstall. What’s confusing me is that when I reinstalled, my libraries were still there and I continue to have the same problem in not being able to add my “TV Show” library back.
Uninstalling doesn’t delete the contents of the Plex data folder, so this will not fix the issues.
Is there a way to completely remove Plex so that I can start over by rebuilding a new database?
Empty out your plex data folder. (while the server software is shut down, ofc)
Or follow this article:

I’m not comfortable with playing around inside my Windows Registry. Can I get away with just deleting the Plex Media Server folder?
Yes, deleting the contents of the Plex data folder should be sufficient in your case.
That’s the folder.
C:\Users
is a hidden folder on Windows.
But pasting %LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex Media Server
into the address bar (encircled in orange in your screen shot) will take you there instantly.
I’m still deleting. I didn’t realize that the content of that folder was so large. I started deleting before I went to lunch. I ate lunch, walked around the block, and took a nap and the folder is still deleting.
