Latest Plex on DSM 7 Problems with EAC3 5.1 Sound

Server Version#: 1.25.7.5604-980a13e02

I’m running the latest available Plex Server on my Synology 1019+ NAS and recently Plex will refuse to play any content that contains EAC3 5.1 or 7.1 audio. This stuff used to play OK. Looking around the forums, it seems that there was a regression that causes this problem but supposedly the version listed above fixes the issue on DSM 7. It hasn’t on mine. Attempting to play such content causes Plex to just sit there and no video is ever shown. Furthermore, Plex seems to have issues scanning for intros on this content, as well.

Has anyone found a reliable fix for this issue yet?

you probably have more folders being monitored than Linux allows by default .

It’s very common when music or photos are used

You can verify by restarting Plex; wait 2 minutes; download the logs ZIP file; Open it and look for No space left on device (the notify table is full)

Remedy:

Reason: All Dolby codecs need two notify slots.

That worked. I honestly didn’t expect it to, but it did. Thanks!
