Hi all,
I’m currently on version 1.18.1.1973 of PMS on my NVIDIA Shield TV, trying to update to 1.18.2.2031, but whenever I try to do so, it essentially crashes when on the “Installing” part of the update, like you can see here.
I’ve tried this both via the Play Store, and using the .apk linked in this thread by StSimm1 but the exact same thing happens.
Anyone have any ideas on how to get this resolved?
I’m experiencing the same problem/issue, I would love to have a resolution that does not require or involve a rebuild or reset of the plex server.
I ended up factory resetting the Shield.
At least it works now.
Same here … Been ‘installing’ for nearly 30 min now… I suspect that it isn’t doing anything at all… really hope it doesnt torch my database…
I suppose I will wait till I upgrade my Shields Hard Drive to an SSD then I will factory reset it and start fresh.
Has anybody had any luck on this? Any official word from plex?
I don’t have a resolution to this issue but just wanted to add that I am having the same issue.
Everything I tried didn’t work - in the end I did what GregorF92 did & factory reset my shield. I works now.
This is a a mess, we get no help or support despite paying them money for their service. Plex, please fix the many problems before making new features.
I am having the same issue. In fact i am on a much older version of PMS. However when I try to install it gets stuck on installing. It eventually breaks the server and rolls itself back to the one I am upgrade from. 1.16.xxxxx. I want to update because I think its also factoring in to my broken livetv/dvr with my HDHRP.
I’m on 1.15.xxxx for ages now it seems like with little ability to upgrade. Is there really no solution as to how to do a workaround when hitting update doesn’t work in google play store?
Started consolidating my electronics and updated the Nvidia shield today. I too am experiencing PMS crashing the shield as it tries to update itself. Horrible. I don’t want to factory reset but will if necessary.
